When my husband and I toured Scotland early in the summer of 2019, we went with three other couples. Our first night was spent at Balmaha. The next morning, after an early breakfast, our group split up briefly before we continued our journey and I took a short walk with our friend Alan Frazer to the shore of Loch Lomond. As soon as I saw this peaceful scene with the colorful boats on the lake and the gorgeous green hills behind them, I knew I wanted to paint it.
