This painting was commissioned by and sold to my cousin April Guiden who I am distantly related to on my mother's side of the family. From 7th grade on, April's mother grew up on this farm. Afterwards, during their childhood, April and her sister would spend about a week here in the summers with her grandparents. The former Grogg family farm was sold to the Amish a number of years ago and the house depicted here subsequently blew up (kerosene heater malfunction?) and the resulting fire destroyed the house. April fortunately had several photos of the property and that is what I used to base my painting upon.
